广铁集团新闻发言人、副总工程师、客运处处长黄欣介绍，广铁集团将在今年春运客流最高峰，安排京广高铁，广深港高铁，广珠、广深城际夜间开行动车组44列。
京广高铁计划节前后开行14列，其中节前有7列开行计划已确定，将于1月22日-29日晚上10点到次日凌晨2点开行，由广州南到武汉，到达武汉已经是下半夜。
广深港高铁和广珠城际均计划节后开行5列夜间列车，为首次开行。广深城际将在节后开行20列夜间列车，接驳南下长途旅客。
“今年春运广州发往湖南的图定列车大部分都买不到卧铺票了。”广铁集团新闻发言人、副总工程师、客运处处长黄欣介绍，节前广铁集团对临客和管内广东-湖南地区的部分图定列车实施“卧改座”措施，这些列车基本取消了列车员休息车，并实施卧代座，而临客就没发售卧铺票。黄欣解释，一个硬卧下铺变成4个座位，卧铺每一格增加2人。经过统计，每日可增加1 .2万席位。
1月27日将达到客流最高峰
黄欣表示，今年春运比2013年提前10天。与去年相比，学生客流与务工返乡客流高度重叠，故节前春运客流迅速攀升。预计1月22日(农历腊月廿二)迎来春运客流出行高峰，1月27日(农历腊月廿七)将达到客流最高峰，发送110万人次。
广铁集团预计，节前学生客流高峰将集中在1月16日至21日，18日迎来学生出行最高峰。节后学生返校高峰集中在元宵节后，即2月15日至18日，与务工返程高峰错峰，节后客流较为平稳，预计节后高峰分别出现在农历年初六(2月5日)和正月十七(2月16日)。
