关于十八届三中全会，崔天凯表示，这次会议作出全面深化改革、使市场在资源配置中起决定性作用、同时更好地发挥政府作用的重大决定，充分表明中国领导层推进改革的坚定决心。
崔天凯在谈到中国自身定位问题时表示，中国是一个发展中国家，是世界上人口最多的国家。中国最大的国际责任就是使中国更加稳定、繁荣并最终实现统一。中国无意谋求成为亚太地区的领导者，更希望做地区国家的重要伙伴。美国应对中国的历史、文化、过去、现在以及将来有更深入的了解，摒弃把中国视作威胁或挑战的观念。中国无意威胁任何国家。中国的发展是要超越自己而不是要压倒别人。
