劳动人口减少244万
统计数据显示：2013年，出生人口1640万人，人口出生率为12.08‰，死亡人口972万人，人口死亡率为7.16‰，人口自然增长率为4.92‰。总人口性别比为105.10(以女性为100)，出生人口性别比为117.60。
从年龄构成看，16周岁以上至60周岁以下(不含60周岁)的劳动年龄人口91954万人，比上年末减少244万人，占总人口的比重为67.6%，60周岁及以上人口20243万人，占总人口的14.9%，65周岁及以上人口13161万人，占总人口的9.7%。
全国人户分离近3亿
从城乡结构看，城镇常住人口73111万人，比上年末增加1929万人，乡村常住人口62961万人，减少1261万人，城镇人口占总人口比重为53.73%。全国居住地和户口登记地不在同一个乡镇街道且离开户口登记地半年以上的人口(即人户分离人口)2.89亿人，比上年末增加959万人，其中流动人口为2.45亿人，比上年末增加812万人。年末全国就业人员76977万人，比上年末增加273万人，其中城镇就业人员38240万人，比上年末增加1138万人。
全年GDP增长7.7%
初步核算，全年国内生产总值568845亿元，按可比价格计算，比上年增长7.7%。从环比看，四季度国内生产总值增长1.8%。全年万元国内生产总值能耗比上年下降3.7%。
2013年城镇居民人均总收入29547元。其中，城镇居民人均可支配收入26955元，比上年名义增长9.7%，扣除价格因素实际增长7.0%。全年城镇居民人均可支配收入中位数24200元，比上年名义增长10.1%。
基尼系数十年最低
国家统计局马建堂局长说，去年基尼系数0.473，总体来讲是符合中国实际的。“部分专家认为这个数字低”，但世界银行对中国基尼系数的计算和国家统计局的也是非常一致的。
马建堂强调：基尼系数严格地讲不是一个统计指标，它是依照一些基础资料，通过不同的方法算出来的。国家统计局也在认真研究他们的计算方法，不同的学者、不同单位的研究结果，特别是研究方法的相互交流，也有助于国家统计局不断地改进收入调查，不断改进对基尼系数的计算。
