去年12月初，辽宁舰从海军新训单位挑选了190名新兵定向培养。14名少数民族女兵经过层层筛选，如愿加入航母舰员行列。在一个多月的培训中，她们克服汉语基础薄弱和体能较弱的困难，完成了共同课目理论知识和灭火、堵漏、包扎、绳结、防护等实操课目的全部课程。为使口令发音更加准确，少数民族女兵加班加点练习口令；理论知识记不牢，她们坚持每天学习到深夜，反复抄写舰艇共同课目理论要点；为强化臂力，她们坚持每天练习哑铃。为帮助少数民族女兵顺利通过培训考核，该训练基地专门挑选专业技能过硬的女兵与她们结成帮扶对子，全程进行一对一帮促指导。
在通过考核验收后，少数民族姑娘们喜不自胜。她们告诉笔者：“能成为航母舰员我们备感荣耀！”作为海军征召的首批藏族女兵，入伍前就读于西藏职业技术学院的江村卓玛，取得了女兵绳结、包扎、防护等多项考核第一名，脸上的高原红绽放成花，她说：“成为航母女水兵，我太兴奋了！我要把藏家儿女如火的激情带到航母去，让家乡为我骄傲！”
