Former Director of Xinyu， Jiangxi people’s Congress over millions of Yuan in bribes being given

Zhou Jianhua was born in July 1955, former prefect of Nanchang xihu District Committee, Deputy Secretary, and the Party Secretary, Nanchang donghu district Party Committee Secretary, Nanchang municipal Committee, Party Secretary General, politics and Law Committee, Secretary of the propaganda Department, 2004 transfer of Xinyu municipal Committee, Deputy Secretary of Xinyu city people's Congress elected in September 2011.

　　新华网南昌1月23日电 (记者胡锦武、赖星)江西省高级人民法院23日在江西省十二届人大三次会议上透露，新余市人大常委会原主任周建华近日经江西宜春市中级人民法院一审，以受贿罪判处死刑，缓期两年执行，剥夺政治权利终身，并处没收个人全部财产。目前，此案正在江西省高级人民法院二审之中。

　　经法院审理查明，周建华利用职务之便，为他人谋取利益，先后99次非法收受和索取他人人民币1023.3114万元、美元1.2万元、港币15万元、金条三根(各重50克)以及价值人民币23.58万元的财物。

　　记者从检察机关获悉，周建华在收受他人贿赂后，利用职权，为请托人在房地产开发、招商引资、人事安排及人大代表当选等过程中提供便利。

　　周建华1955年7月出生，曾任南昌市西湖区委副书记、区长、区委书记，南昌市东湖区委书记，南昌市委常委、市委秘书长、政法委书记、宣传部部长，2004年调任新余市委副书记，2011年9月当选新余市人大常委会主任。
