21日，有市民反映，下午2时左右，在西安市中心医院儿科病房，有多人围殴医生。“男男女女十来个人，有人拿着棍棒，一个女的还拿着榔头，”这位市民称，打斗前曾发生激烈争执，“突然就开始打人了，一个医生头上流了好多血”。
在住院部外面休息的一名女子自称目睹了事件的整个经过：“来了十几个人，看见医生打医生，看见护士打护士，一个女医生被打得挺严重的。”该女子称，听说是此前孩子看病时出了问题，所以来讨说法。有目击者称，两名民警处警时也受了伤。
据了解，伤者已被送往交大二附院接受治疗。
医院儿科住院病房加强安保工作
昨日上午，西安市中心医院儿科住院病房外，一名患儿家属称，事发前，这里的安保工作并不像现在这样紧张，进出门也不像现在查得这么严，“今天我下去给孩子买饭，上楼时都要被问孩子的姓名、床位等”。

一名知情人士称，自己曾与殴打医生一方的一位老人闲聊，得知发生纠纷的原因是，一个4岁左右的女孩因为发高烧曾来西安市中心医院儿科就诊，但孩子病情未能好转，后来在转院途中病亡。患儿家属曾到医院讨要说法，但没有结果，最终发生了打医生的事情。
院方称事件起因是“医患纠纷”
昨日下午，西安市中心医院在给媒体的通报中称：2014年1月21日13时57分，一儿科患者家属及一群不明身份的人因为医患纠纷持械在西安市中心医院儿科医生办公室围攻医院医务人员，随后，在公安部门前来制止情况下发生“袭警”，造成医院一名医务人员及两名公安民警受伤，目前3人均已住院治疗，现公安部门已经介入，事情正在进一步调查和处理中。
不过，院方对于“儿科患者”是哪里人，何时到医院就诊，曾接受过哪些治疗，因何与患儿家属发生纠纷，受伤医生目前伤情如何等问题，均表示暂时无法回答。
公安新城分局有关人士对院方“袭警”的说法未表态，但承认有两名警察在处警时受伤。
据了解，公安、卫生部门已经介入，两名打砸人员已被拘留，3名受伤人员伤情稳定，西安市中心医院儿科已恢复正常医疗秩序，案件正在进一步调查处理中。
