据介绍，今年春运旅客在开车前退票量比重大幅减少，截至25日，在开车前24小时内的退票量占总退票量的24.4%，同比减少6.5个百分点；24小时以上的退票量占总退票量的75.6%，其中48小时以上的退票量占总退票量的65.9%，同比增加6.5个百分点。
从目前余票情况来看，京沪高铁、沪宁杭、甬台温高铁间有较多余票；北京去往成渝、哈尔滨方向临客有余票；上海去往山东、东北、福建、江西、西北、安徽地区有余票；厦门去往上海、杭州、广州东、福州、龙岩、深圳方向有余票。

地铁运营公司表示，今年春运各重点站客流均呈增长态势，北京站同比增长12.97%，西直门站同比增长4.8%，四惠站同比增长7.98%。去年9号线实现与1号线、10号线换乘，北京西站客流同比增长103.93%，六里桥站也因9号线与10号线的换乘同比增长134.27%。
春运期间，地铁北京站继续沿用去年采取的措施，提前20分钟开门，引导乘客进站候车，避免乘客在寒风中久候，同时，在D(西南)口上方安装了LED灯箱，循环滚动播放服务信息，方便乘客乘车。
雍和宫站大年初一封站
为配合1月31日(大年初→)雍和宫大街交通管制，当日，地铁2号线雍和宫站、5号线雍和宫站自首班车起至16：00时止封站。封站期间，2号线、5号线在雍和宫站不停车。
1月31日5号线北新桥站自首班车起至16点止，封闭A口(西北口)、B口(东北口)。C口(东南口)、D口(西南口)正常开放。
后沙峪站免费寄明信片
为让不能回家乡团圆的乘客也能触摸到家的温暖，地铁工作人员为他们提供了免费邮寄明信片的服务。正月十五之前，每天10点至15点，乘客可以在15号线后沙峪站站台层免费领取明信片，现场填写完后投入“思念箱”
内，地铁员工会将明信片邮寄至目的地址，将乘客的祝福送到远方的家中。
据了解，活动主要服务春节不能回家的乘客，地铁员工在购置明信片时选择了城市主题，有带有老北京特色的照片，也有上海、杭州、南京等大城市的主题明信片，希望能让乘客在挑选明信片时看到自己的家乡产生亲切感。这是北京地铁首次在春运期间为乘客提供并邮寄明信片，工作人员表示，如果参与人员比较多就会每天进行投递，最长也会三天进行一次投递。
