记者了解到，腊月二十七、二十八、二十九是铁路春运节前最高峰。北京站、北京西站、北京南站、北京北站共发送旅客约150万人次。仅北京西站单日上车客流量峰值就达22.5万人次。
北京市铁路局介绍说，面对春运各大火车站都是“运力”全开，所以整体的出京客流与去年基本持平，不会受太大影响，对于铁路运输来说没有特别的不同。而且据记者了解，虽然规定除夕不放假，但是从各单位实际放假的情况来看，很多单位都选择了提前放假，再加上学校早已放寒假，学生们也都提早回家过年。
从年前余票情况看，北京去往哈尔滨、呼和浩特、武汉、南昌、成都方向有余票，去往上海方向高铁列车有少量余票。
铁路部门提示旅客，注意看管好随身物品、照看好小孩；通过网络购票成功的旅客尽早换取车票，确保票、证、人信息一致，提前到达车站，以免耽误行程。
春运期间，各站为重病患者和特殊困难旅客提供预约服务。有需要的旅客可直接拨打12306服务电话，或通过各站热心服务电话预约。

截至1月28日，全国铁路春运已累计发送旅客8443.7万人次，同比增加1124.2万人次，增长15.4%。其中，北京站发送旅客212万人次，南站发送旅客138.3万人次，西站发送旅客289.5万人次，北站发送旅客16.2万人次。
