冬天无雪有点遗憾，但气温走高是有原因的。
记者对比长沙市气象台提供的数据发现，去年湖南各项气温指数屡破纪录。
极涡作怪
喻雨知介绍，最近30年(1981年—2010年)，长沙市12月份常年的月平均气温为7.3℃，2013年12月的月平均气温为8.5℃；今年1月的常年月平均气温为4.9℃，而截至2014年1月27日17点，1月的平均气温为8.8℃。
去年6月29日~8月19日，我省出现了年内范围最广、强度最强的高温天气过程，全省平均高温日数35.1天，破1953年历史同期最高纪录的32.5天；全省高温最长持续时间达48天(衡山、长沙)，破2003年永顺县38天的历史纪录。
与夏季高温相呼应，冬季气温也高，降水也少。湖南省气候中心专家指出，这主要因为入冬以来北极极涡中心偏向了西半球。
所谓极涡，一般是指存在于北极地区的高空涡旋，气压比较低，活动也不太规律，其偏向区域内的气温会偏低。
2013年1月，我国北方气温异常走低便是受到极涡的波及。当时，极涡的中心位于东半球。今年情况相反，极涡中心位于西半球，因此北美遭遇了异常低温，而我国大部分地区较往年偏暖。
长沙并未逐年变暖
关于暖冬，市井街巷里充满了各种分析：工业化影响、汽车太多……
喻雨知解释，近期长沙气温偏高，是有点异常，但并不意味着长沙冬季气温在逐年升高。“2010年12月5日的气温是30年里当月气温最高的，有24.1℃；而1月份的最高气温出现在1992年1月29日，23.6℃。”
