据多家媒体和网站报道，1月28日，数百名建筑农民工围堵在安徽省定远县长征路，讨要工钱。阻止车辆通行，近百辆机动车辆被堵在道路两端，造成定远县城前往合(肥)徐(州)高速、淮南市方向交通瘫痪。当地政府出动近100名公安干警维持秩序。
定远县委宣传部回应称，28日，该县定城镇长征西路发生建筑工人堵路讨薪事件，造成交通短时间受阻，引起60余人围观。据悉，28日15：30，有28名农民工为讨要工资，占堵长征西路一开发项目花园湖名邸工地附近道路。讨薪工人是滁州市志明建设工程有限公司水电班组工人，承建花园湖名邸工程，业主单位为定远县金汇置业有限公司。
记者从定远县委宣传部了解到，讨薪工人人数为28人，被拖欠工资总额约25万元，受阻道路为城区道路。拖欠工资是因为，定远县金汇置业有限公司将工程款于28日转入施工单位滁州市志明建设工程有限公司，由于施工单位未及时组织发放造成。
接到报告后，定远县公安局等部门立即组织力量，县公安局共出动警力21人，其中协警15人，前往现场，维持交通秩序。20分钟后道路得到疏通，交通秩序恢复正常。定远县人社局、住建局、公安局组成联合调查组，现场进行处置。经协调，施工单位于29日上午9时全部支付所欠工人工资，28名工人领取工资后，已有序离开工地，返乡过年。
定远县委宣传部表示，目前，事态平稳，当地社会秩序稳定，事件得到圆满解决。
