刘梦溪指出，春晚这台节目是很特殊的，虽然近年来大家对春晚的期许减少了，但是对于全国老百姓来说，在一台晚会上能够看到中国文化精品，很多明星通过春晚的方式走到舞台上来的，春晚的正面价值不可低估。
除了国内的正面价值，其在国际上日益增加的影响力更是不容忽视。早在2012年初，吉尼斯世界大全就宣布，中国中央电视台举办的春节联欢晚会为世界国内观众数目最多的节目。
“尤其是近年来春晚在世界上的影响力越来越大，全球华人对它都有很高的期待，升级之后，有关部门更加注重春晚，春晚所能够传递出去的正能量就更大。”刘梦溪说。 夏学銮指出，中国文化输出需要一个通道，上一次世界关注中国文化盛宴还是2008年北京奥运会开幕式，但那终究是难得一遇的事情，如果把每年的春晚都升级为与奥运会开幕式平级的“国家项目“，对中国文化的输出和传播有很大帮助，而且老百姓对春晚的期许也会更高。
