FBR资本市场部的副总裁易福思（Dan-Ives）评论说，外界对于微软的一个乐观预期，是他们能够寻找到一个外部人，可以做出一些重组微软的重大艰难决定，比如亏损的游戏机业务Xbox是否剥离掉？现在由一个内部人上台，这些改革已经没有希望。

虽然纳德拉负责云计算，熟悉微软业务，但是他从来没有担任首席执行官的经验。要知道，微软可不是一般的公司，其资本市值高达3130亿美元，在科技行业仅次于谷歌和苹果。

野村证券的分析师谢兰德（Rick-Sherlund）表示，纳德拉从未担任CEO，一下子要领导一个13万人的大型公司，从战略决策到业务运营，纳德拉将面临艰巨的挑战。

谢兰德表示，从纳德拉的选择可以看出，微软最终还是希望寻找一个拥有科技背景的高管，可以在未来十年长期担任微软CEO，虽然穆拉里成功拯救了一个大型公司，但可能并不令微软满意。
