Japan decision from the United States to introduce amphibious assault ship， strengthening the Diaoyu defense

Japan media reported on February 1, the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force decided to bring in a large amphibious assault ship, to strengthen the Southwest near Diaoyu Islands and Okinawa Islands defense.

　　报道援引日本防卫省透露的消息说，引进两栖攻击舰的目的，除了强化离岛防御之外，还考虑到南海沟巨大地震等灾害发生时的救灾对应。日本防卫省计划在2018年前，从美国引进这艘两栖攻击舰。

　　日本政府于去年12月正式决定了中期防卫力整备计划，明确规定将引进多机能舰艇，以便运送大规模兵力，强化离岛防卫。

　　据悉，日本计划引进的两栖攻击舰是参照美国海军“黄蜂”级两栖攻击舰“埃塞克斯”号。有“钢铁短吻鳄”之称的“埃塞克斯”号，搭载有AV-8B“鹞”式战机、CH-53E“海上种马”直升机、CH-46E“海上骑士”直升机、UH-1N超级休伊直升机等逾30架各型机型，以及超过2200名船员和海军官兵。
