据了解，三星正计划在其平板电脑上采用金属网格和碳纳米管技术，以降低对日本电工的氧化铟锡供应依赖。对于摄像头的重要组件蓝玻璃滤光片三星也尤为重视，据悉现在三星已有多家供应商可选，供应商之间的价格竞争将会导致配件价格下降，三星因此有望进一步降低成本。
一位业内人士表示，“三星正在尝试使供应商多元化，以减少对某些零部件供应商的依赖，目前享有垄断地位的供应商会发现今后很难维持高利润的产业结构。不过这种方式可能一定程度上意味着三星需要牺牲其产品的质量。”
