此前法国国家信息与自由委员会（CNIL）因谷歌违反隐私规定而对其处以15万欧元的罚金，并要求后者必须在其法国主页显示处罚决定。

尽管谷歌后来对此提出了上诉，但是法国法院还是驳回了其请求，因此谷歌不得不按照判决在首页上发布该处罚决定。不过谷歌表示将继续针对15万欧元的罚单进行申诉。

欧洲多国对谷歌的隐私政策表示不满，类似的情况今后可能还会继续。
