在10日召开的首都绿化委员会全体会议上，林克庆介绍了2014年首都绿化美化的发展目标。据介绍，今年北京市林木绿化率将增加1个百分点，达到58.4%，森林覆盖率达到41%。城市绿化覆盖率将增加0.6个百分点，达到47.4%，人均公共绿地面积增加0.2平方米，达到15.9平方米。
林克庆表示，今年北京市将以举办亚太经合组织峰会为契机，全面提升城市景观水平。将推进雁栖湖生态发展示范区公共景观以及核心岛的绿化美化建设，加快东郊森林公园、未来科技城滨水公园、永定河生态发展带等重点功能区的绿化建设，并充分利用闲置地、裸露地建设一批微小型绿地和城市休闲公园。全年将建设市级健康绿道200公里，完成100个老旧小区的绿化改造，建成30个精品市花月季社区，提升30条胡同街巷的绿化景观，完成屋顶绿化10万平方米，垂直绿化50公里，完成区、乡级公路河道绿化300公里，让市民在身边见到更多绿色。
