据介绍，2014年1月5日11时许，威远县小河镇岩洞湾矸子厂发生较大瓦斯爆炸事故，死亡4人、4人受伤。2014年1月6日23时许，邻水县葛麻湾煤矿发生较大事故，死亡4人。2013年底，宣汉县上峡乡大河沟煤矿＋740m东风井非法启封非法入井事件，导致2人死亡。
