　　国家卫生计生委今日举行例行发布会，介绍全国卫生计生工作会议情况和2014年工作要点，以及贫困地区儿童营养改善项目实施情况。

　　张世琨指出，儿童的营养状况是衡量整个人群营养状况的最敏感指标，也是人口素质的基础。国际上通常将5岁以下儿童营养状况作为衡量一个国家经济社会发展的重要指标，作为关系人类生存与发展的重要问题给予关注。国际社会也越来越重视儿童的早期营养工作。

　　张世琨介绍，有研究表明，在生命最初的1000天，即从怀孕到2岁期间的母婴营养会影响人一生的健康。这一时期良好的营养，可以促进儿童体格和脑发育，增强免疫力，降低出生缺陷发生率，降低对疾病的易感性。而这一时期营养不良给儿童带来的近期和远期危害，都是不可逆转、不可弥补的。近期危害主要是体格和智力发育迟缓，患病率和死亡率增加；远期危害主要是智力发育滞后，学习和工作能力下降，患心血管疾病、糖尿病、高血压等慢性疾病的风险增加。

　　张世琨称，中国目前儿童营养状况还存在明显的城乡差异和地区差异，特别是贫困地区的农村儿童营养问题更为突出。农村地区儿童低体重率和生长迟缓率约为城市地区的3-4倍，而贫困地区农村又为一般农村的2倍，2010年贫困地区尚有20%的5岁以下儿童生长迟缓；6-12月龄农村儿童贫血患病率高达28.2%，13-24月龄儿童贫血患病率为20.5%。贫困地区农村儿童的营养状况亟需改善。
