南方日报(记者/方镇彬) 今天下午4时50分左右，作业中的莞惠城际铁路常平段发生坍塌。位于常平大道中信银行门口附近的施工路段，逐渐塌陷，最终形成一个面积约40平方米、深六七米的大坑。事发后，现场四周拉起警戒线，工程车载着技术人员迅速赶往处理，由于坍塌位置从马路中间绿化带向外扩散，事件没有造成人员伤亡，也没有过往车辆受损。
据常平镇政府重点办相关负责人介绍，此次坍塌，主要由于地质条件较差，在地表与地下作业工地中间的流水层较大导致。
记者在现场看到，坍塌现场周边，正好是路边停车场，不少车主怕塌方扩大受波及，陆续将车辆开往其它地方。
事实上，早在去年3月7日，莞惠城际铁路常平段就发生过坍塌事件。位于常平大道中国农业银行门口附近的施工路段，塌陷了一个面积约50平方米、深3米的大坑。由于处理及时，当时没有造成人员伤亡。
