陈一丹是法律出身，持有律师资格证。一位曾在腾讯任职11年的资深员工提及陈一丹时评价，在腾讯从小到大，从小公司到大公司的规范发展、规范化管理方面，陈一丹做出了很大的贡献。陈的管理特点是既能兼顾效率，又能兼顾人性化的管理，使公司内外符合相关的规定和政策，在一个稳定的道路上发展。
金诚同达律师事务所高级合伙人汪涌是腾讯的法律顾问，和陈一丹有过接触。汪涌称，(陈一丹)给我感觉他是一位温和和低调的智者，有和他年龄不相称的长者之风和远见卓识。他一手打造的法务团队是我见到的国内最强团队。
在腾讯内部，陈一丹和马化腾被认为都是性格很稳的人，考虑事情非常清楚、长远。此外，陈和马也非常互补——马化腾是产品和技术的佼佼者，会有很多新的点子、新的策略，而陈一丹很快就领会，并从专业角度提醒实践中应该注意到哪些问题，会涉及哪些法律。
陈一丹还被认为是顾家的、有责任心的人。在腾讯的创始人中，陈是较早结婚生子的人。他从家人关怀的角度上，建立了腾讯公司对于家属的各种福利制度。
腾讯的慈善公益线，是他主导去推行的。腾讯是国内较早建立慈善部门的互联网公司，然后每年都有专人转款去处理慈善的事情。
在陈一丹的个人慈善方面，他曾出资1000万元在中南财经政法大学武汉学院设立奖学金，用来奖励优秀的教育工作者和品学兼优的学生。
他在卸任时接受《21世纪经济报道》的采访聊到，自己2011年已经决定交棒，而倒计时的这近两年里他已经为最终离开腾讯做了很多铺垫。
从离职的历程，也体现了陈一丹的“稳”。他在离职邮件中透露，两年前已经有了离职的想法，并且与其他创始人进行了沟通，在征得其他创始成员的同意后，才着手安排自己卸任的步骤。经过两年的安排，业务稳定，团队成型后，陈才达成离职。
而i黑马注意到，在陈离开后，腾讯并没有再设立首席行政官(CAO)一职。原来陈的工作全面由腾讯集团高级副总裁郭凯天接了过去。郭2002年加入腾讯，自2007年9月起负责公司行政、法务、政府关系、公共关系、基金会、采购等职能系统工作以及北京、上海及成都等各分公司的职能管理工作。
技术大牛张志东的“英雄迟暮”和张小龙的上位
张志东此前一直相对低调，很少见之公众场合。据公开资料，张志东是一个绝对的技术天才，在深圳大学，张志东和马化腾都属于计算机技术拔尖的一拨，但张志东是其中最拔尖的；即便放大到深圳整个计算机发烧友的圈子里，张志东都是其中的翘楚性人物。
张志东是个工作狂人，基本没什么业务爱好，唯一的兴趣是喜欢下象棋，工作空隙会抽空上网杀上一盘。张志东个子不高，比马化腾和曾李青要矮上一个头，圆脸，说话总带微笑，但讨论技术问题时会有些偏执，有时也会激动的脸红脖子粗。熟悉张志东的人都把张志东叫冬瓜，取张志东的东字的谐音，也与其身材有一定的暗合。但随着腾讯的长大，张志东也逐渐位高权重，旁人逐渐把称呼改成瓜哥或喊他的英文名Tony，以示尊敬。
张志东也很值得尊敬，一是其技术上的炉火纯青，即便是他的对手，都对这点佩服的五体投地。QQ的架构设计源于1998年，十年过去了，用户数从之前设计的百万级到现在的数以亿计，整个架构还在适用，真的难能可贵，甚至说不可思议。张志东值得尊敬的另一个原因是其对物质上的追求极低，在腾讯创始人们纷纷在澳洲买别墅，开游艇，高管集体团购宝马的态势下，张志东一直开着20多万的中档车。
对此，一位张志东的多年密友解释说，瓜哥不靠这些来证明自己。张志东的确不需要靠这些来证明自己。张志东是腾讯第二大个人股东，他上市之初持有的股份超过6%，按照腾讯最高市值1200亿港币计算，张志东身价理论上接近70亿港币(实际不到，因为他不断做着套现，但应该也是数以10亿港币计)。
根据腾讯官方描述，张身兼执行董事和首席技术官，全面负责本集团专有技术的开发工作，包括基本即时通信平台和大型网上应用系统的开发。显然张作为腾讯主要的创始人和第二大个人股东，又有过去10年把QQ做成全球最大的的IM的骄傲，让他正值壮年——40多岁的时候退休，其实说不过去。
但从腾讯现有情况看，微信的风头早已盖过QQ，整个腾讯现在疯狂地以微信为基础，整合大众点评、京东等平台来抢夺O2O的机会，试图颠覆阿里。这样，张主管的“基础即时通信平台”受到的重视程度下降，而微信其实外界都知道是张小龙的功劳。
而张志东主管的另外一块——大型网上应用系统的开发，也有得力干将可以HOLD住。1998年毕业于中国科学技术大学计算机科学与技术系的卢山，2000年加入腾讯，历任即时通信产品部总经理、平台研发系统副总裁、运营平台系统高级副总裁，现在是腾讯公司技术工程事业群总裁，集团高级执行副总裁，负责公司技术及运营平台的搭建等管理工作。
张小龙和卢山的上位和发挥顶梁柱的作用，估计难免让张产生“英雄迟暮”，现在的江湖是年轻人的感觉，以“休息”为借口离开可能最舒服的。而据江湖传言，小马哥准备安排张志东去搜狗、京东、大众点评等腾讯刚战略投资的公司，享受他们新IPO的红利。如果真是这样，那小马哥对张真没得说，IT工程师之间还是有爱啊！
好好先生许晨晔还能留多久？
现在还留在腾讯的腾讯5个联合创始人之一是腾讯首席信息官，许晨晔。他和马化腾、张志东同为深圳大学计算机系的同学，与张志东一样，许晨晔在深圳大学毕业后进修了南京大学计算机应用专业研究生，毕业后则进入深圳电信数据分局工作，与曾李青是同事。许晨晔是一个非常随和而有自己的观点，但不轻易表达的人，是有名的“好好先生”。他最大的爱好是与人聊天，兴趣则多种多样。
在许晨晔及少的发言之中留有一段珍贵的讲话，许谈起了他们是如何走到一起许晨晔在谈起创业时候，脸上带着习惯性的微笑，笃定地说：“虽然我们毕业之后接触并不太多，但是我们知道各自的风格，我虽然不知道要做的事情能到怎样的程度，但是我知道大家肯定是认认真真地去做，不会说是打打闹闹玩一会儿，做来做去没有下文的那种人，所以这个事情我就值得参与。当时并没有其它特别的想法，就是觉得这个事情做了不会浪费时间。所以当时大家都很爽快地答应了。”
现在腾讯官方对许晨晔的描述是：腾讯公司主要创办人之一，首席信息官，全面负责网站财产和社区、客户关系及公共关系的策略规划和发展工作。I黑马提请大家注意，许作为腾讯主要创办人但不是公司的执行董事(张是)。许和陈一丹一样，是腾讯5个创始人中股份最少的两个，其负责的事情也多偏内部和后台。其他三个创始人都离开了，许会一直陪着小马哥和刘炽平吗？
刘炽平：成为马化腾背后最重要的男人
如果说现在马化腾心目中谁最重要，i黑马认为是腾讯总裁刘炽平，而不是腾讯的其他4个联合创始人。
2006年2月，刘炽平升任腾讯公司总裁，开始全面负责腾讯公司业务运营管理，管理公司业务团队和运营团队。在他的带领下，腾讯公司在线生活战略全面展开，逐步完成了面向即时通讯、网络游戏、门户网站和电子商务的全业务布局。2006年，腾讯公司推出了电子商务平台拍拍网和在线支付平台财付通，门户网站QQ流量跃居中文门户第一，网络广告收入大幅上涨150%以上，休闲游戏也以创记录的280万同时在线成为了全球最大的休闲游戏平台。
在整个中国互联网大公司里，像刘这样，既有战略眼光，又有管理能力的人不多。刘近年帮助马化腾提前布局海外市场(据业内人士称，在刘炽平主导下，腾讯把全球人口超过1亿人口的国家排名前列的游戏公司要么买了要么战略投资了)，战略投资金山、搜狗、大众点评、京东等，形成非常强的业务布局，为腾讯成为中国市值最大互联网公司立下赫赫战功。
刘其实是个精英。刘25岁时已经拥有斯坦福大学和西北大学两个硕士学位，曾任的麦肯锡的管理顾问，后又成为高盛亚洲投资银行部电信、媒体与科技行业组的首席运营官——刘炽平在管理全球最大网络社区、中国最赚钱的网络公司腾讯之前，其履历并不复杂。
在高盛期间，一次复杂的重组项目让他真正学习到了东西。当时在国内投资界名噪一时的广东粤海集团重组，高盛足足操作了两年，中间涉及到100多家债权银行，400多家公司，刘每天工作都到凌晨两三点，两年的年项目感觉做了四年。但最终完成后，刘也对企业的管理、经营、执行几乎所有流程都都全面了解，“做完这个项目，基本上再做任何项目都觉得容易了。”
刘炽平的感受是，好企业20%是因为策略上的成功，80%的因素在于企业的执行能力。因此他萌生了投身企业，从一个给企业提供战略意见的第三方身份，成为战略执行者。
在2004年机会终于到来。高盛操作腾讯上市项目，刘炽平表现出的才华让马化腾极为欣赏，而刘炽平也在操刀腾讯IPO中感受到这家中国公司的优秀。刘炽平受邀出任腾讯首席战略投资官，负责腾讯战略、投资、并购和投资者关系，而更牛的是，只在1年后就升任腾讯总裁，放眼整个全球互联网业界都很少有那么快上位的职业经理人——阿里的曾明也只是做到参谋长的位置，远不是总裁；百度压根就没有总裁这种角色。
而跟刘一样是职业经理人出身的还有2006年加盟腾讯的网络媒体事业群总裁，集团高级执行副总裁刘胜义，他负责腾讯网络媒体事业群，包括旗下的腾讯网、腾讯视频和腾讯微博。2011年加入腾讯的首席战略官，高级执行副总裁James Mitchell，。他全面负责公司战略规划和实施，投资者关系管理工作，为公司提供业务规划及业务模式等方面的战略建议，以及加强公司与投资环境的双向沟通。2005年加入腾讯的高级执行副总裁汤道生，自2008年10月起负责互联网业务系统的产品平台与研发管理工作。自2012年5月起负责公司大社交平台的搭建及推动开放平台战略的实现。2005年被并购后加入腾讯的张小龙其实也算外来户，他们已占去腾讯高级执行副总裁一半左右的职位。
