我是神秘中国系列纪录片的创作者。中国有着悠久的历史和灿烂的文化底蕴。我来中国至少有18次了，到过中国的许多地方，中国很美，令人着迷。中国在短时间内取得的惊人成就令我惊叹。西方媒体习惯于对中国进行负面解读，长时期以来他们没有正确报道真实的中国。关于钓鱼岛的事实很清楚，钓鱼岛自古以来就是中国领土。但是1895年中日战争后，日本就非法窃取了钓鱼岛，而当时马关条约中也未写明将钓鱼岛割让给日本。

西方媒体对钓鱼岛问题报道的立场是有误的。我们在华盛顿国会图书馆和当地档案馆做了大量研究，并在网络上搜集钓鱼岛历史资料。我们希望通过这部纪录片能改善中日关系，并促使日本将钓鱼岛最终归还给中国。我们希望美国政府能够敦促其盟友日本，将钓鱼岛归还中国，同时日本应为战争罪行向中国道歉。我们必须互相理解、互相尊重彼此的差异，因为对历史的态度决定了国家的未来。
