Mr Li said China attached great importance to the role of the International Monetary Fund. LaGarde agreed with Li's views on the current world economic situation, said joint efforts in various countries, positive developments in the growth of the world economy, there are risks also have room to grow. 李克强指出，当前世界经济可以用三个是和三个但是来概括：一是总体形势有新的变化，但是仍然错综复杂。发达国家更是要重视自身政策的外溢效应。二是新兴市场面临困难和挑战，但是仍为世界经济增长的重要力量。三是各国宏观政策协调遇到困难，但是仍然应该发扬应对国际金融危机时的同舟共济精神。国际社会应巩固和加强在二十国集团等框架下的对话、协调与合作，推动建设开放型世界经济，促进全球经济沿着强劲、可持续和平衡的方向发展。
李克强表示，中国高度重视国际货币基金组织的作用。希望基金组织继续推动各国加强宏观经济政策协调，及早甄别、研判世界经济中可能存在的重大风险；完善国际金融体系，推进落实国际货币基金组织份额和治理结构改革；坚持多边主义，反对贸易保护主义，推动经济全球化，努力实现共同发展。中国愿继续同国际货币基金组织保持密切合作。
拉加德赞同李克强对当前世界经济形势的看法，表示在各国共同努力下，世界经济增长取得积极进展，在存在风险的同时也有增长空间。中国成功推进改革，为世界经济增长做出重要贡献。基金组织高度赞赏中国的改革举措，愿与中国加强合作，并与各国一道，争取尽早落实基金组织份额和治理结构改革，推动全球经济治理取得积极进展，促进世界经济稳定增长。
