据洪磊介绍，中国海上搜救中心协调8艘过往商船在孟加拉湾、印度尼西亚及澳大利亚以西海域进行搜寻，搜寻面积15380平方公里。此外，中国海上搜救中心通过农业部渔业局协调在印度洋中部作业的20艘渔船协助搜寻，均未发现可疑情况。
