据国外媒体报道,太空探索技术公司(SpaceX)4月25日在华盛顿特区召开新闻发布会,公司创始人伊隆马斯克(Elon?Musk)在发布会上宣布,日前发射的猎鹰9号火箭的助推器成功实现软着陆,为日后显著降低太空飞行成本和有朝一日在火星上实现火箭软着陆创造条件。



在成功地将猎鹰9号火箭送入太空之后,火箭的一级助推器成功地返回到地球,之后撑开了着陆架并悬停了一段时间。这个过程就是所谓的“软着陆”,这种技术可以帮助公司显著降低太空旅行的成本,有朝一日还可以利用软着陆技术将人送到火星上。





由于此次火箭助推器回归地球后的落点在大西洋上,没有固定的位置让火箭着陆。在太空探索技术公司派出回收船只之前,助推器已经落入海洋并因为风暴掀起的巨浪而遗失。但是,太空探索技术公司希望能在未来的几个月里再次实现火箭软着陆。



马斯克在新闻发布会上说:“我们将更加精准地确定着陆点。如果一切进展顺利,我相信我们可以在今年年底的时候让助推器落在卡纳维拉尔角(Cape?Canaveral)。”



自从公司成立以来,马斯克和太空探索技术公司就一直在努力实现火箭的软着陆。燃料耗尽后,火箭的助推器落入大海并遗失。每一次发射火箭都要建造一只新的火箭。太空探索技术公司预计,如果能够将用过的助推器回收,就能将每次发射火箭的成本减少70%。现在每次发射火箭的成本大约为6000万美元。



马斯克希望,公司有朝一日能够将火箭送入太空后再在地面上进行回收,翻新后再填充新的燃料,甚至有可能在当日再利用它。他们的目标是最终将每次发射火箭的成本减少到500万美元到700万美元。



虽然马斯克没有在新闻发布会上明说,但是软着陆技术也是朝着他的长期梦想迈出的第一步。马斯克曾经公开宣布过他的长期梦想,即将人类送到火星上。



虽然美国国家航空和宇航局(NASA)曾在2012年成功地将1吨重的好奇号火星探测车送到火星表面,但是现在人类还没有能力将更重的东西送到火星上。如果要将活人送到火星上,就需要让40吨重的物体实现软着陆,但是利用今日的技术是无法做到这一点的。



最关键的问题是,火星表面的大气层比较薄,火箭上弹出的降落伞不足以将火箭的速度降低到能够安全着陆的程度。但是有一种被称为超声反推进的技术可以让引擎反向转动来降低速度,并且在着陆前悬停在地面上空。



NASA已经在超声反推进技术的测试和研发上取得一定的进展,但是距离实际应用还有较大差距。太空探索技术公司已经通过在地球上实现软着陆证明了它有能力开发出类似的技术,有朝一日在火星上实现软着陆。



马斯克在新闻发布会上说,猎鹰9号火箭的着陆点与预期目标地点相差了数英里。太空探索技术公司希望今后能够通过技术进步提高着陆点控制的准确性,将这个差距缩小到1英里以内。马斯克说:“最终,公司应该能够象直升机着陆一样将着陆点与目标地点之间的差距缩小到1米以内。”
