近期，4部美剧在搜狐、优酷、腾讯等视频网站下架，引发了诸多网民的关注。
这次被下架的美剧中，不乏美剧观众耳熟能详的科学类情景喜剧《生活大爆炸》，该剧由搜狐视频独播，自周五晚起第一至第七季全部下架；《傲骨贤妻》版权则分属搜狐视频、优酷土豆、腾讯视频等网站。
多家视频网站对记者表示，下架这四部美剧是由于4月25日国家新闻出版广电总局下达的通知，但下架的具体原因并不知情。
许多媒体报道，此番美剧下架与今年3月，国家新闻出版广电总局曾发布《关于进一步加强网络剧、微电影等网络视听节目管理的通知》有关，该通知要求强化网络剧、微电影等网络视听节目的内容审核，互联网视听节目服务单位要按照“谁办网谁负责”的原则，对网络剧、微电影等网络视听节目实行先审后播管理制度。
“因为国外对国内视频行业或许不够了解，上述通知下达之后，《好莱坞报道者》等外媒解读为此举将会给近来在中国十分热门的美剧带来重大打击。”一视频网站内部人士告诉21世纪经济报道记者，上述通知是重申了有关部门对网络剧、微电影的管理，网络剧主要是UGC内容和视频网站的自制剧，跟美剧是两个概念。
有数据显示，截止到2014年4月1日，搜狐视频美剧剧目总数为76部，其中获得艾美奖的剧目为14部，位居第一名；优酷以58部位居第二；腾讯视频为36部，排位第三名。
4月28日，搜狐公布2014年第一季度财报，在财报沟通会议上，搜狐CEO张朝阳表示，《生活大爆炸》等美剧下架对业务影响不大，张朝阳认为，被下架的美剧仅仅是个案，不代表总局对美剧在中国总体策略的变化。
张朝阳同时坦言，《生活大爆炸》等美剧广告销售情况不错，但由于美剧毕竟是小众精英人群，流量比起国内电视剧来说相对较低，所以目前对搜狐业务影响不大。
从2010年2月搜狐视频首次引入美剧《迷失》之后，为了寻求内容的丰富与差异化，近几年视频网站间的竞争激烈，但是相较于各网站对国产剧的疯狂争夺，美剧只能算是版权库中作为一个锦上添花的角色。
广电专家、易目唯文化传播有限公司CEO包冉对21世纪经济报道记者说，根据一般的行业观察猜测，这次下架或许只是这些剧目涉及一些具体的技术问题，比如引进剧目的行政程序是否完整，或者在版权方面的问题。“如果是这些问题，处理起来并不难。”
上述视频网站内部人士告诉21世纪经济报道记者，上级部门对引进剧的管理一直都很严格，许多剧目都已经经过严格审核的，因此在导向性上不会有太大问题。
包冉认为，市场对引进剧总投入可能就占国产剧版权费用的1/4上下，目前国产剧受众较广，版权价格要比引进剧贵很多，引进剧带来的流量跟视频网站的投入成正比。“从这个角度讲，购买引进剧价格相对低廉并且可以丰富平台的内容，对引进剧的投入趋势不会受到很大影响。”包冉说。
