近日，一则中国男性平均身高已经落后日本和韩国的消息引起国人关注，根据这条消息，在东亚三国中，中国男性的平均身高最低，韩国最高，日本居中。记者今天在2014年全国青少年“未来之星”阳光体育大会新闻发布会上了解到，“中国男性比日韩男性矮”的说法缺乏调查数据支持。
2014年全国青少年“未来之星”阳光体育大会将于7月16日～7月19日在吉林省长春市举行，今天主办方和承办单位在长春市实验中学召开新闻发布会。国家体育总局体育科学研究所所长田野今天在会上表示，这则中国男性平均身高不及日韩的消息中，有关中国的数据引用的是国家体育总局体科所2000年的调查报告——平均身高169.7厘米，但在过去14年间，这项数据已有明显增加，2013年的调查数据已变为171.6厘米。田野表示，他没有查到近期在中日韩三国间进行了任何有效的调查，可以证明目前中国男性的平均身高落后于日本和韩国。
教育部体卫艺司司长王登峰则表示，华东师范大学去年对上海市和日本长野市6～18岁青少年进行的平均身高调查显示，上海青少年的平均身高超过了长野市青少年。
