4月28日清晨，春雨蒙蒙。在渝考察的中共中央政治局常委、国务院总理李克强经过一夜舟行，溯江而上抵达重庆果园港。
果园港是我国最大的内河水路、铁路、公路联运枢纽港，向西经渝新欧国际铁路联运大通道，可达中亚和欧洲，是重庆建设长江上游航运中心的重要港口。在港区内，李克强详细了解港口建设和航运贸易等情况。
看到总理来了，不少建设工人自发围拢过来，大家争相向总理问好，港区顿时热闹起来。总理走到工人们中间，和大家亲切交谈。
“你们的港口在内河联运行业可是竖大拇指的，名列前茅啊！”李克强对工人们说。人群中，有人自豪地抢着回答：“总理，我们可是内河第一大港哦！”
李克强笑着勉励大家说：“既然是‘第一’,那就要展现出第一大港的水平，展示出第一大港工人的素质，起好排头兵的作用。”他又关切地问大家，工作环境和条件怎么样？工资和过去相比是多了还是少了？听完工人们七嘴八舌的回答，李克强现场“总结”：港口业务多了，大家工作量增加了，收入也见涨了，生活越来越好了！
“生活上还有什么不方便没有？”总理又问。
一位工友说，就是上下班远了一点，交通车得坐一个多钟头，听说要建轻轨通这边，不知道啥时候能建好。大伙儿附和说，要是能天天坐轻轨上下班就安逸了。
李克强当即了解轻轨建设进度。得知2016年该条线路可建成通车，现场响起一片热烈的掌声。临走时，总理送给大家三句话：“生活更好，收入再增加，出行更方便！”
在轨道交通六号线大剧院站施工现场考察时，李克强还不忘叮嘱轻轨建设者们：“刚才，有不少码头工人告诉我，盼望着早日坐上轻轨。我替他们带句话——为广大群众出行提供方便，就靠你们啦！”
