据悉，拉黑是商业级Twitter客户端Tweetdeck最受欢迎的功能之一。Twitter 2011年收购了Tweetdeck。

尽管不喜欢对方的推文，但出于工作或社交原因，用户有时“被迫”关注部分帐户。有时关注的帐户会“直播”用户不太关注的事件，有时用户会担心部分帐户“剧透”计划稍后观看的电视节目。
