　　今年以来，自治区民政厅按照自治区党委、政府的安排部署，加大资金筹集力度，实施城乡低保提升工程，落实社会救助和保障标准与物价上涨挂钩联动机制，及时为城乡低保对象发放价格补贴，有效保障和改善了困难群众的基本生活。

　　自治区民政厅社会救助局工作人员彭刚说，今年是自治区第5个民生建设年，自治区将城乡低保提升工程列为重点民生工程，决定安排专项资金保障和提高城乡低保对象的基本生活，其中城市低保23.2亿元、农村低保18.4亿元。

　　此外，自治区民政厅还将加大临时救助力度，对因灾、因病、因交通事故等意外事件导致基本生活暂时出现严重困难的群众进行临时救助，同时还将会同有关部门研究制定《救助申请家庭户籍、车辆、保障、证券等信息共享办法》，建立健全居民家庭经济状况核对标准体系和机制，研究制定农村低保申请家庭经济状况核查办法，彻底清理“关系保”和“人情保”现象。

　　截至目前，新疆共有86万城市低保对象，占新疆非农业人口的9.1%；有130万农村低保对象，占新疆农业人口的10.6%，城乡低保对象每月人均补助分别为277元和129元，高于全国平均水平。
