　　5月1日下午16时许，宜昌城区发生一起交通事故，一辆轿车驶向道路左侧，造成路边行人2死9伤。事故刚好被正在宜昌游玩的王某(男，37岁，江西人)看到，王某随后在其微信朋友圈和微博上散布“宜昌和平公园被恐怖分子袭击，第一次离恐怖这么近，离死亡这么近，万恶的恐怖分子”的虚假信息。

　　该消息发布后，多人关注转发，引起社会恐慌。经调查，警方发现这一信息纯属谣言，宜昌市公安局迅速通过“平安宜昌”微博发布消息予以澄清。

　　2日凌晨0时10分许，办案民警在宜昌城区将王某抓获。经审问，王某对其为了博取眼球，编造了“宜昌和平公园被恐怖分子袭击“的虚假信息的违法行为供认不讳。

　　由于王某的行为在社会上造成了恐慌，警方依据《中华人民共和国治安管理处罚法》第二十五条的规定，对王某作出行政拘留10日的处罚。(完)
