Fudzilla得到可靠消息称，NVIDIA的第二代麦克斯韦架构显卡将会支持H.265视频格式的硬件编码、解码。

H.265又称为HEVC(高效视频编码)，是现在流行的H.264的下一代标准，也是4K超高清的基础，未来还能支持更高分辨率的8K。它可以在码率只有H.264一半的情况下获得同等画质，压缩率更高。

据称，麦克斯韦架构内将整合一个专用的硬件单元，来执行H.265视频的编码、解码。

不过这里所谓的“第二代麦克斯韦”究竟是什么并没有明说，Fudzilla只是称20nm新工艺版本会在年底推出。

而根据此前曝料，28nm GM204核心已经流片成功，会在年底正式发布，20nm新版则得等到明年下半年。

AMD、Intel方面对H.265的支持还没有确切消息，但肯定也会尽快上马。
