　　日本《读卖新闻》5月8日报道称，“TOTO”上海工厂8日开始停止了生产。TOTO公司发布的消息称，本月6日，位于上海市松江区的TOTO工厂向工会提出了新的工资体系。但是中国员工对这一工资体系表示不满，因此要求工厂的日籍总经理辞职，工厂内的监视摄像机也遭到破坏。7日之后，情况有所缓解，但是罢工依然继续。工厂内的日本国旗和公司旗已被降下。

　　TOTO公司称，公司的方案是给员工增加工资，但是工厂的员工之间却传出了要减少工资的传闻，结果导致了大规模罢工事件的发生。

　　日本时事通信社9日报道称，TOTO公司方面表示，目前公司正在与相关方面展开交涉，避免罢工事件进一步扩大。

　　TOTO公司由大仓和亲于1917年创立，最初名为东洋陶器株式会社，随后更名为TOTO(东陶机器株式会社)。1923年，关东大地震给东京带来了毁灭性破坏。在灾后重建中，排水系统的大规模建造，使卫生洁具的需求量急剧上升。1946年，第二次世界大战后，TOTO开始生产制造金属配件、水龙头以及陶瓷品。从那时起TOTO两大核心业务——卫生陶器的烧制和铸造的发展，带动着精密加工技术领域的革新，蓬勃的发展起来。1990年，TOTO开始在美国开展贸易，并扩展至印度尼西亚、韩国、朝鲜、泰国、中国台湾以及中国香港。1994年，TOTO将其业务推广到中国内地。
