Exception caused by the water quality of the Yangtze River Jingjiang of Jiangsu water – contamination is not clear

Members of the local maritime authorities said the contingency plan is currently under investigation of pollution and contamination is not clear.

Jingjiang lies on the Yangtze River downstream of mechanical, electrical and automotive parts, pharmaceutical and fine chemical industry, textile and clothing, ship repair is the main local industry categories, many chemical plants, textile mills were built on the waterfront. (End text)

　　中新网南京5月9日电 (记者 朱晓颖)记者9日从江苏海事部门获知，长江水质异常致江苏靖江停水，目前暂未接到有长江上船舶污染的报告，可初步排除船舶事故或泄漏可能。

　　当日，江苏省靖江市人民政府官方微博“靖江发布”通报，因长江水源出现水质异常，全市暂停供水。该市有关部门启动应急预案。据网友反映，当地出现抢购矿泉水现象，一些超市矿泉水、纯净水脱销。

　　记者从江苏海事部门获知，目前，没有接到有长江上船舶污染的报告，初步排除是船舶发生碰撞或者泄露导致水域污染的可能性。靖江所在的长江泰州段，以及下游的张家港、江阴水域，海事部门出动海巡艇巡航江面，也暂未接到有船舶污染水域的报告。

　　当地海事部门工作人员表示，目前正按照应急预案排查污染源，污染主体尚不明确。

　　靖江位于长江下游，机电及汽车配件、医药及精细化工、纺织服装、船舶修造是当地主要工业门类，不少化工厂、纺织厂就建在江边。(完)
