　　贺明说，叔叔贺卫星属于他们村上及周围最有出息的人，通过读书个人勤奋，进入当地粮食部门工作，后来到很多部门当过领导，但一直是副职。“曾经聊天的时候他抱怨过，很多曾经的下属现在混得比他好，有种怀才不遇的感觉。”贺明说，他听很多人讲过，贺卫星20多岁到当地粮食局工作时，曾一夜之间为领导写了五十多页讲话稿，从此很多人知道贺卫星有“一支笔”。

　　听闻噩耗后，贺卫星正在长沙读大学的儿子小贺当天下午赶到湘乡。小贺说，他父亲很少跟他讲过烦恼事，都是简单交代让他好好读书之类。

　　留下遗言“痛、痛、痛”
