5月26日下午，营山县安监局负责人回应称，营山城区确实发生了一起安全生产事故，因属非重特大安全生产事故，由县级人民政府处理，不存在瞒报。该负责人称，5月22日晚22时左右，营山城区“荣泰欧玛特”在建楼盘工地正在浇筑混凝土时，钢模板掉落造成垮塌，导致现场6名施工工人受伤，其中1人伤势严重，送往医院后不治身亡。另外的5名伤者中已有4人出院，留院治疗的伤员经救治已无生命危险。“此次事故伤亡人数未达到‘重特大安全事故’标准，按照相关规定未向上级报告，由营山县政府处理。”该负责人还称，不存在瞒报。
