据OpenDNS公司CEO兼创始人David Ulevitch介绍，从2005年创办OpenDNS后，公司收入也由原先的ISP广告收入转向为安全客户付费服务，因此公司也决定不再给普通用户弹广告。之前，当用户启用OpenDNS免费DNS服务器，当输入的网址无法解析时，官方服务器会自动重定向到广告页，获取一定的广告收入。
不过现在，这些都不会发生了。
