30日09时20分，云南省德宏傣族景颇族自治州盈江县发生6.1级地震，震源深度12千米。这是继24日5.6级地震后的又一次强震。
地震发生后，云南省地震局立即启动地震应急二级响应。大理滇西实验场从下关派出10人工作组赶往灾区。地震现场工作队共计60余人，已分批赶赴现场，开展现场震情监视与分析、应急通讯、灾害损失评估、指导现场抗震救灾。
云南省地震局震害防御处处长张俊伟介绍，此次地震的震中位于盈江县卡场镇，距5月24日5.6级地震震中以北2公里。处于大盈江地震活动带附近，震区100公里范围内历史上有5级以上地震记录14次。
盈江县山地地势东北高，西南低，属人口较稀疏区，卡场镇人口密度为21人/平方千米，盈江县人口密度77人/平方千米。“整体经济水平较低，农村房屋以砖混和土木结构为主，傣族木楼抗震性好，部分墙抬梁及空心砖墙房屋抗震性差。”
截至30日11时，已发生余震41次，其中M2.0—2.9级23次，M3.0～3.9级地震11次，M4.0～4.9级地震1次，M5.0～5.9级地震1次。总体呈南北向展布，有感范围包括腾冲、怒江、保山以及德宏州全境。
云南省地震局地震预报研究中心研究员付虹称，由于震区位于腾冲火山区附近，震群活动特点明显，未来还存在发生5级地震的可能性与危险性，提醒相关部门要做好防震工作。(完)
