一些网友认为，事发突然，在场的人可能没有反应过来，拍摄视频可以作为证据，也有群众报警，这也算是见义勇为的行为。
还有一些网友认为，对方有6个人，并叫嚣“谁管谁死”，这可能也是现场无人敢出手相救的原因。

王树理建议相关部门，在防范各种邪教思想上要树立起露头就打、毫不手软的政策和措施，强烈要求相关部门揭示邪教本质，司法机关依法严厉惩处这些犯罪人员。还有网友关心，是否还有其他“全能神”成员在强制无辜群众入教？希望公安部门能够加大办案力度，防止其他无辜百姓受害。
“全能神”曾在河南酿多起惨案
近年来，邪教组织“全能神”曾在多地散布宣扬“世界末日”等谣言邪说，组织制造社会恐慌，在河南就曾酿成多起惨案，公安机关等部门一直对其进行严厉打击。
据河南省有关部门介绍，“全能神”邪教组织专门设有“护法队”，殴打不愿入教或意图脱教的人。1998年10月30日至11月10日，河南唐河县“全能神”“护法”在短短12天内，就接连制造了多起抢劫、殴打事件，受害人被打断四肢、割去耳朵。2012年12月发生在河南光山的校园伤害案，犯罪嫌疑人闵拥军，受到同村一名60多岁“全能神”女信徒的影响，闯入校园，砍伤了23名小学生。
“全能神”邪教人员在偏远农村、城乡接合部及部分城市地区，用登门宣传、走街串巷、上街打横幅、发传单和利用扩音器等方式煽动人们入教，并大肆宣扬“世界末日”等言论。一些信众因信奉“全能神”“传教度人”，奉献钱财，有工不做，有田不种，有家不归，导致家庭不和，甚至倾家荡产。
为维护社会秩序，依法严厉打击和有效防范邪教组织的违法活动，河南省公安机关查处过“全能神”邪教活动，2012年12月，曾依法拘留96人，并收缴了一批邪教组织非法宣传品。
