Ambassador to China， in response to build air defense identification zone of South China Sea： has the right to do

People's daily on June 5, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs news, June 4, Chinese Ambassador to United States Ambassador CUI Tiankai accepted United States cable news network (CNN) "amanpu" column in an interview, on the situation in the South China Sea issue to answer the host amanpu's question. CUI Tiankai stressed that building in a South China Sea Island is a matter within the sovereignty of China, and other countries have no reason to blame China. And expressed the hope that the US side to stop all words and deeds that coercive. Situation in the South China Sea called "in the South China Sea between China and there will be a war" speech, Cui said that individual issues should not let this lead Sino-US relations, and does not think it will because of this issue towards confrontation and conflict.

Following is the interview excerpts:

Amanpu: clearly some military reconnaissance activities in the area. Some aircraft to fly there to see what was happening. As you know, CNN reporter aboard a military aircraft flew over the area shortly before the plane had to return after the military warned in China. The situation is very tense now. China set up air defense identification zone are taken into account in the South China Sea?

Cui said: I hope CNN will show people in other countries do things for many years in the area, so as to restore the truth. In addition, as I said, reef-building in China mainly for civilian purposes, so there is no need of the countries concerned to send so many military aircraft in the area came close reconnaissance activities, contrary to the United Nations Convention.

Amanpu: Mr Ambassador, do you foresee in the future that China will set up the South China Sea the air defense identification zone, as well as set up air defense identification zone in the East China Sea?

CUI Tiankai: the United States is the world's first country to establish the air defense identification zone, currently over more than 20 countries around the world have established the air defense identification zone. China of course has the right to do the same thing, but whether or not doing so depends on the judgment of the situation, and of course we will proceed cautiously.
