2月7日，农历大年除夕。

结合受害人的受骗经过，民警迅速对鹏鹏经常进入的QQ群中网名为“钱包”的犯罪嫌疑人展开调查，围绕其IP地址、网站域名及网络注册信息等相关资料进行了详细调查，并根据嫌疑人取款监控展开深入走访摸排，最终锁定了嫌疑人。
2月24日下午，办案民警在广东省东莞市一小区民房里将犯罪嫌疑人刘某某抓获归案，揪出了“师傅”的真身。令人惊讶的是，这个在网上“神通广大”的“钱包”，网上一直自称是一个男士，而真实的他，竟然是她——一个瘦弱的小女孩儿。
“上到初中二年级，我就辍学了，今年19岁。”2月27日，犯罪嫌疑人刘某某被押解到我省驻马店，涉嫌电信诈骗被依法刑事拘留。经讯问，刘某某承认，所谓价值数万元的“神技”，压根儿一文不值。“鹏鹏买源码，支付了十几次。因支付宝限制每笔最多转1万元；他最多的一次转4万，每笔5000元连续转了8次。”
