在《遇见大咖》节目中，董明珠称，在2003年的时候，每一个城市都希望自己拥有一个世界500强的企业，当时有人非常希望能卖成，我们珠海就有了世界500强的企业。当时按多少钱卖的？按照净资产卖大概也就是9个亿就卖掉了，而且当时来找我的时候说年薪给你8千万，这个对我来说太有诱惑了，何乐不为呢。但是我告诉他说我不可能卖格力，我当时讲了一句话，我说今天你是世界500强，未必明天我不是世界500强。今天这个梦想实现了，当时让我9个亿，我现在还一年给国家交150个亿的税收，它可能吗？这全世界还有格力这个世界名牌吗？

史小诺：我看网上说有空调巨头，就是联合起来围剿格力？

史小诺：手机这个消息出来以后，雷军那边有什么反应吗？

董明珠：没有反应，我觉得没有什么，我觉得我们之间没有任何矛盾。

史小诺：您觉得小米的手机，有没有值得你学习的地方？

董明珠：我是创造性的，我不是模仿性的企业，但是最起码我不希望用，我不想采用所谓的饥饿营销。

史小诺：您说那个美的和雷军的结合，是两个小偷的合作，这个就是外人一般人听起来，还是觉得有点刺耳。

董明珠：因为他偷了我的专利，我不能说他偷了我的专利，他不行，很长，所以小偷是最简洁的语言表达，所以我就说他是一个小偷，对吧。正好雷军也是在印度被封杀，也是偷了人家的专利，我就讲到说两者都是小偷，对我来说没有任何影响。
