二战结束后，索罗斯离开布达佩斯前往伦敦。在去伦敦前，他本人对这个地方的印象非常简单：这是个有BBC（注：英国广播电视公司）的地方。离开了本本分分的父母家，索罗斯一心渴望在伦敦“大展雄图”。
