广州警方22日通报，广州越秀警方近日抓获1名嫌疑人蔡某(男，24岁，广东河源人)，其利用微信公众号吸纳会员，收取会员入群费后再通过微信群及某网络云盘传播大量淫秽视频的方式进行非法牟利。同时，警方查缴涉案淫秽视频文件约15000G。

根据广州市公安机关“扫黄禁赌冬季百日行动”要求，越秀区网警加大了对互联网上涉黄情况的巡查。

警方发现，该微信公众号从2015年11月开始注册，通过微信电子支付方式收取每人人民币9.8元的“入会费”并组建会员微信群，再向该群组每天不定时发送淫秽视频。

据调查，该微信公众号共招募会员两千多名，除在群内传播淫秽视频外，该微信公众号还利用网络云盘存放了巨量淫秽视频文件(约15000G)。其间，该微信公众号通过出售这些网络云盘的账号进行牟利，非法获利人民币达4万多元。

广州越秀警方联合多个警种成立专案组，先后通过走访和对相关网络帐号进行分析，发现租住在越秀区北京路高第街的蔡某有重大嫌疑。

2月中旬，警方掌握到嫌疑人已潜回广东河源老家，于是前往当地继续走访摸查。3月中旬，警方将蔡某抓获，并当场查扣用于作案的手机和电脑等物品。经审讯，嫌疑人蔡某对利用微信传播大量淫秽视频的行为供认不讳。

目前，嫌疑人蔡某已被警方依法刑事拘留，案件正在进一步审查中。
