After the split is completed, Sony said it will focus on the following features:

3, new business incubation beyond Sony's new business in the current business;

4, the brand design: working to improve Sony's brand value and brand project Executive Group level;

5, professional service: in the business after the split is complete, supports the operations of Sony Group;

In parallel with the restructuring, Sony announced senior position and will also make adjustments, the company will appoint four new executives, responsible respectively for Sony's four business segments of the group, Sony has served as "Executive". 而目前还留在索尼公司的业务，包括民用影音产品销售平台、制造、物流、采购和索尼电子业务的质量和环境平台，以及一些云服务平台和服务相关业务，都将被逐一转移到索尼集团相关公司中去，转移工作将从2016年4月1日开始。

在拆分工作完成后，索尼公司表示将专注于以下功能：

1、公司总部：负责索尼集团的整体战略和公司治理及策略执行的监督工作；

2、R&D（研究与开发）：通过技术创新，引领并发展索尼的差异化和创造力；

3、新业务：孵化超越索尼目前业务领域的新业务；

4、品牌设计：致力于提高索尼品牌价值和执行集团层面的品牌项目；

5、专业服务：在业务拆分完成后，支持索尼集团的各项运营工作；

在结构调整的同时，索尼宣布企业高层的职务和系统也将做出相应调整，公司将任命四名新的高管，分别负责索尼集团的四个业务板块，在索尼公司担任“公司执行官”。他们将与现有的六名公司执行官一起，承担由董事会分配给他们的索尼集团内部管理的最终责任。索尼也将重新划分其他高管的职责。负责在公司执行官监督下执行其指定业务运营的高管被称作索尼公司的“业务高管”，而负责在相关公司执行官的监督下执行分配给它们的总部职能的高管被称作索尼公司的“公司高管”。
