根据协议，双方之间将通过探索合作共建未来全新“互联网+汽车共享”模式，一起推进新业态之间的融合及合作，提升出行安全和便捷体验，共同打造绿色、共享的崭新出行方式。

这也是Uber首次将汽车分时租赁拓展到新能源领域。双方合作在业务上具有互补性。在汽车共享经济领域，Uber开创了典型“互联网+交通”的出行解决方案，并通过创新模式，将闲置的车辆资源充分、高效地利用起来，以共享的形式提供给无车用户，降低社会出行总成本，减少路上出行车辆。

仅2015年8月以来，“优步”在江浙沪推出的“拼车”服务，累计帮助250万人次节省了超3千万公里的行程，其减少的碳排放量约等于3.5个西湖大小的森林一年的吸收量，为道路上日均减负15万车次。

而于2015年成立的上汽“e享天开”优势则在新能源领域。通过移动互联网平台将新能源车应用于分时租赁，鼓励人们共享用车，减少燃油车、私家车的使用。

用户通过手机APP查询附近网点，订车、用车、还车、支付，在移动互联网上便可完成租车全程。目前上海中心城区有60多个网点、320辆新能源汽车、12000多会员。且所有网点24小时无人值守，真正做到车辆“随用随取，即付即用”。

汽车共享是未来的趋势，按分时计费亦促进了车辆的循环高效利用，节约出行成本，减低城市道路负担。而分时租赁也可能将推动用车模式的变化，在汽车共享时代，消费者不需要拥有车，也能按需用车。

2016年上汽汽车分时共享领域将投入5000辆新能源汽车、2000个网点、1000个电桩和进入20个城市。

根据计划，两大巨头合作后，还将共同探索“互联网+出行”领域的商业模式合作，为上海市进一步推广和实施《上海市推进"互联网+"行动实施意见》中面向广大市民衣食住行的“互联网+交通”、“互联网+旅游”专项提供资源支持。
