Hong noted that China appointed Special Envoy to Syria, aimed at better promoted on the role, more active contribution of Chinese wisdom and plan more effectively to strengthen communication and coordination with the parties concerned, to promote the Syrian issue properly resolved to continue to play a constructive role.
It is understood that the Special Envoy Xie Xiaoyan is a veteran diplomat and experienced, a former Chinese Ambassador to Iran, Ambassador, Ambassador and representative to the AU in Ethiopia, familiar with Middle East Affairs.

中方任命叙利亚问题特使 将继续推动叙问题妥善解决
中新社北京3月29日电 (叶秋曈)中国外交部发言人洪磊在29日的例行记者会上宣布，中国政府已于日前批准任命解晓岩出任叙利亚问题特使。他表示，中方任命叙问题特使将为推动叙问题最终妥善解决继续发挥建设性作用。

　　有记者问，你能否介绍一下中国政府任命叙利亚问题特使是出于什么考虑？

　　洪磊回应称，当前，叙利亚问题解决进入关键节点。在国际社会共同努力下，停火协议总体得到落实，人道救援不断推进，叙政府和反对派重启了日内瓦和谈。

　　他表示，中方作为安理会常任理事国，一直为推动叙问题妥善解决发挥积极的建设性作用。中方主张政治解决是叙问题的唯一出路，联合国应为叙问题解决发挥主导作用。中方支持联合国秘书长叙问题特使德米斯图拉的促和努力，提出中方有关解决叙问题的思路和举措，并积极向叙及其周边国家提供人道主义援助。

　　洪磊指出，中方任命叙问题特使，目的就是要更好地发挥劝和促谈作用，更加积极地贡献中国智慧和方案，更加有效地加强同有关各方沟通协调，为推动叙问题最终妥善解决继续发挥建设性作用。

　　据了解，解晓岩特使是资深外交官，经验丰富，曾任中国驻伊朗大使、驻埃塞俄比亚大使兼驻非盟代表，熟悉中东事务。
