Ministry of defence: Japan should explain to the international expansion of military intentions

Beijing, March 31, Japan's recent massive increases in the defence budget, Defence Ministry spokesman Yang Yujun said today that Japan should enhance military transparency, to explain to the international community the real intention of expanding military power.

国防部：日方应向国际解释扩张军力的真实意图

　　中新网3月31日电  日本最近大幅增加国防预算，国防部新闻发言人杨宇军今日表示，日方应切实提高军事透明度，向国际社会解释扩张军力的真实意图。

　　在今日国防部例行记者会上，有记者提问，日本2016年大幅提高了国防预算，首次超过5万亿日元，约合419亿美元。请问中方对此作何评论？

　　杨宇军回应称，我们注意到日本最近大幅增加国防预算。日方总是对中国正常的国防费增长说三道四。事实上，日方却打着各种幌子，连续数年增加国防费预算，大力扩充军备，引起亚洲邻国和国际社会的高度警惕。日方应切实提高军事透明度，向国际社会解释扩张军力的真实意图。
