为规范殡葬治丧行为，我省取消了所有市、县的252个医院太平间，并建立57个殡仪服务中心，对殡葬服务实行归口管理，我省是全国第一个全省范围内取消医院太平间、建立殡仪服务中心的省份。
殡葬基础设施是重要的基础性民生工程，是提供殡仪服务的重要场所。为支持全省殡葬事业发展，省政府自2013年以来累计投入8600万元，改造全省殡葬基础设施设备，极大改善了群众治丧环境，收到了良好效果。“十三五”期间，我省将积极筹措资金，进行殡葬基础设施改造，以便从根本上扭转殡葬基础设施（设备）落后局面，满足群众治丧需求。

全省各地大力推进节地生态安葬工作，以促进绿色殡葬发展。从2010年开始，长春市连续6年开展了公益海葬活动，现已通过海葬累计撒散骨灰2000多具；吉林市佳龙陵园用可降解骨灰坛对骨灰进行花葬、草坪葬，实现了墓地生态、可循环利用；延边州通过宣传引导并结合民族风俗习惯，每年有近30%的骨灰通过“吹灰”方式（即火化不留骨灰）进行处理，从而达到不保留骨灰这一殡葬改革最终目的。辽源市积极探索节地生态葬式葬法，政府将建设公益树葬纪念园纳入了2015年度惠民实事工程，投资80万元进行公益树葬墓园建设，现已有28位市民预约为已逝亲属进行公益生态树葬。此外，各地还积极探索开展“爱心公益”环保草坪葬、“鲜花换烧纸”等活动，绿色殡葬已逐步深入人心并蔚然成风。
