新型飞机载弹量大大提高
为了完成这次“首飞”，东北区域人工影响天气中心的工作人员三天前就在关注着天气过程，提前一天便进驻长春龙嘉机场。

昨天的增雨作业是按照天气系统从西往东移动的特点，飞机从龙嘉机场起飞，直接飞抵通辽地界，飞行作业达四个半小时，在从通辽到白城、松原地区的上空反复实行“S”型飞行，根据天气系统的可作业区域进行人工增雨作业。
而且，东北区域人影中心启动了跨区域飞机增雨联合作业。停靠在白城、长春、沈阳的三架增雨飞机昨天早晨同时开始作业，共飞行五架次。白城Y-12增雨飞机于早6时32分起飞，围绕白城、松原地区开展作业；长春“新舟”60增雨飞机于9时05分起飞，围绕通辽、四平、松原、长春地区开展作业；沈阳Y-12增雨飞机于早8时07分起飞，围绕沈阳、锦州、阜新地区开展作业。
此次人工增雨作业效果显著，中午12时，作业区域普降小雨：白城6.0毫米，松原6.7毫米；通辽6.1毫米。
第二架新型飞机也将来长
此前我省仅有一架增雨飞机，如今东北区域在我省又新增了一架飞机，加上包括辽宁、黑龙江和内蒙古东四盟的东北区域共有飞机12架，增雨作业不再以各省单兵作战为主，而是根据条件，3至5架飞机同时增雨，多机跨区联合作业，最终实现“集团军”作战。
据悉，第二架“新舟”60增雨飞机也将于近期交付东北区域人影中心，两架飞机的主要停靠地在长春，也可根据需要调往其他地区使用。
“新舟”60增雨飞机投入东北区域人工影响天气能力建设后，将有效提升整个东北区域人工影响天气作业水平，在国家新增千亿斤粮食工程以及东北地区抗旱、防灾减灾、森林防火、涵养水源、生态建设保护等工作中发挥重要作用。
新型飞机三大特点
以前我国一般采用小型增雨飞机作业，作业半径、飞行时数、载弹量有限，“新舟”60是我国量产的中型飞机，装备国内外先进云宏微观探测仪器、作业播撒设备和北斗导航、海事卫星通讯系统，是我国目前个头最大、设备最先进、作业能力最强的高性能人工增雨飞机，配备到全国首个且目前唯一的区域人影中心———东北区域人影中心。“新舟”60增雨飞机有三大先进特点：
一、精准作业
以往的人工增雨作业，都是通过地面预测出需要人工增雨的区域，飞机再飞到预测的区域进行增雨作业，但实际情况往往和预测的情况有差距。新型的增雨飞机安装先进的探测设备，达到作业要求后才进行增雨作业操作，可以做到精准作业。
二、设备先进
新的人工增雨飞机，安装了先进的海事卫星天线，可以实现和地面的数据化连接，地面可以直接指挥飞机，飞机的观测信息也能及时传递回地面。做一个比喻，以前的增雨飞机是“战斗机”，新型的增雨飞机就是“导弹机”，单机飞行作业功能和实效大幅提升。
三、联机作战
