2日下午13时30分左右，沪蓉高速发生一起30多辆车连环相撞的严重交通事故。事故发生后，一则“87辆车相撞，167人受伤”的消息随即在网络上迅速传播。由于信息中内容详实，相撞车辆的类型、伤者的性别等都一一列举，使得部分网友深信不疑并大量转发。
2日晚，针对这一信息，江苏省公安厅网络安全保卫总队通过官方渠道证实，该信息属于谣言。警方同时敦促散布谣言者立即删除相关不实言论，表示对于恶意造谣传谣者，一经查实，将依法处理。
目前，根据警方的通报，事故中共有2辆大货车、3辆大客车及20多辆小车相撞（消防部门初始通报为56辆），2人当场死亡。另据记者了解，事故中有50余人受伤，伤者已被分别送往常州、无锡两地医院救治，其中1人送医途中死亡。其余伤者目前基本病情稳定，但部分重伤者尚未完全脱离危险。（完）
